Mush Mag is my response to a publication brief, where the issue's theme was to be 'Online/Offline'. I chose the Mycelium Network as my way to answer the theme.
The concept is a magazine that can be grown into mushrooms when finished reading. Content is interesting and educational, visuals are bright and striking.
If this was to be an ongoing project future issues could include food, industry, medical/mental health, environmental and extinction themes. Certain features would be in every issue such as 'Forager Files' and a 'long read'.
Spore packages are vacuum packed with each issue and instructions are included on how to grow mushrooms on the magazine. I also created merch to go along side my publication, including stickers, t-shirts and a poster.
